As many of you know, we have been aiming to not only meet but exceed government guidance on indoor air purification in our classes. We have been doing that with three major tools.

  • MERV-14 Air Filters Installed in our HVAC for the training rooms.
  • UVGI Air Purifiers in all areas of the school.
  • Additional HEPA filters in the training rooms.

But we recently came upon an additional option that we will be installing this week, a REMO HALO whole home in-duct air purifier. Adding this tool into our toolbox will add another layer of protection for our students as they return to class, both reducing the chance of spread of Covid-19 and other illnesses like the common cold.

With that said, installing a system like this does require us to not hold indoor classes for a couple of days this week. As such, indoor classes on Tuesday, September 15th will be canceled to allow us to safely complete the installation of this new purifier system. While the system is being installed, we temporarily lose a layer of protection for our students and I won’t teach an indoor class during that time period. We fully expect to run indoor classes on Friday the 18th, with yet another safety measure in place.

On a related note, we will continue to hold outdoor classes on our regular schedule this week. We have a separate HVAC system that services the hallway to the bathroom, and the bathrooms themselves, that will be fully operational this week. So if a student needs to enter the building to use a restroom, the areas they enter will still have appropriate filters & air quality standards in place.

Hope to see you soon,

Sensei Jeff
